A Case in Study

Someone once noted that the quality of English spoken in the Philippines is deteriorating.
This video of a beautiful young lady who won the recent 2008 Binibining Pilipinas World title clearly qualifies as a case in study.

Bear in mind - she eventually won the title, and if only for that she is a testament to the aggressive resilience, and to the "never-say-die", "give it all you've got" drive of the Filipino. I kinda' admire her but in an incredulous kind of way ...

At the very least, I wouldn't mind having dinner and a couple of drinks with her :-)

Hmmmmmm
Where would I bring her?
Somewhere interesting
Somewhere where we could talk
Somewhere new

Umu
in Japanese means "born to nature"
It is also the name of the new Japanese restaurant of the renovated Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati

Greeters very politely welcome guests into an eye-catching sushi bar area
Warm and inviting, it is distinctively marked by rope-clad columns and a lighted alabaster (or maybe onyx) bar
Here -one can savor the obligatory sashimis and sushis,
Even as one lights the fire of the evening with a shot of sake or any of the cocktails that can be prepared by the well stocked bar

Or perhaps - we could settle into the area of a similarly lighted teppanyaki grill area where our personal teppan chef would dazzle us with the showmanship of his food preparation techniques.
Or maybe we could close the doors behind us, in a peaceful, serene tatami room.
(It's just that I don't trust myself with such a beautiful lady in a closed room)
As a further choice, there is an outdoor veranda that seamlessly merges into a garden area.

A wonderful neo-Japanese ambiance
Music to chill by
Food to enjoy
Wine to prime the splendor of the evening yet to unfold
Attentive servers in the service mold of geishas
And the festiveness of interactive chefs and bartenders ...

This is the place to be
To eat, drink, be merry ...
And to converse - with the girl of my dreams

Uhhh
Uhhhmmm
Hahahahaha
Actually - the imfortance persons to my life
C'mon , cut her some slacks
Give her da benefit of the 'daw"
Just burn the bridge when you get there
It was just an idea that crossed at the back of my mind
If worse comes to shove - just take things first at a time
Slow by slow
When it rains it's four
After all, I am not a boy anymore - I am a man anymore.

Kampai ...

I've seen too much of her already...but isn't over confidence sometimes laughable. she should have at least known her ability, now she brought down the name of her university pa to the drain...lol

anyway those food looks delicioso...Umai
! (this term could have originated from Umu...) I'd love to try that food...Im certain the kids would love it there. =)

I'm still grinning, see? :D One of the reasons why I hate watching beauty pageants---I feel sorry for candidates like the girl of your dreams.:D Well, she won the Miss World title, aren't they? hahahaha

The sashimi, by the way, makes me drool na naman!

Those competition are all about beauty not about brains... To give those competitions/shows a flavor of respectability they nowadays ask "pseudo" intellectual questions.

For IQ matters one can try to join Mensa...

Anyway I don't like women who are smarter than me! ;-)

I have no doubt you would be able to entertain this beauty Queen the whole night ! ;-)

sakai,
The salmon was good ...
Parang I want to go back na.

Yes -I guess the wasabi was "real".
Uhmmm , I am not a food expert but it is a "genuine" Japanese outlet with Japanese chefs in an international hotel - so I am guessing that it is the real stuff.
