Be the Referee

Manny Paquiao the Pacman had won again
The nation was ecstatic
Unified (for once) in rooting for a homeboy ...

We are like that
Coming together to watch our heroes beat the wits out of our common enemies
Beat them to a pulp if need be
We cheer whether the battle be in a boxing ring or in a political arena

Macho macho man
Hoooo haaaaa (muscle flexing)
This a time for meat ...
Time for a good manly cut of beef

Myron's Place in the swank Greenbelt 5 was a friend's recommendation
New
Crisp
Clean
Inviting
And with an outdoor patio area that allows one to dine under the wonderful tree canopy of Greenbelt 5

Our menu choices were pretty straightforward with no real surprises.

"Sisig samosas"
Mesclun Salad with sea scallops and raspberry vinaigrette
Baked oyster sampler (includes baked oyster with foie gras)
Duet of bacon-wrapped Angus steak and grilled prawns
And finally ...
Roast US Angus Rib-Eye Beef
Wine please ...

Friends walked in and out
A few waves , a few smiles
Beso-beso , chismis
Manila is a small town full of people whose national pastime aside from eating, is to talk
It was an evening full of chatter - much of it about the days boxing event

The food itself though was not a "knockout"
More like a split decision
I had expected more
But ...
They are in "soft opening"
I wouldn't count them out just yet
"You can never can tell"
You are just gonna' have to try them yourselves
Be the referee ...

Let me know
